Answer - (b)

Slump test- This method of test specifies the procedure to be adopted, either in the laboratory or during the progress of work in the field for determining the consistency of concrete.

The internal dimensions of the mould for the test specimen are bottom diameter = 20 cm top diameter = 10 cm and height = 30 cm


Question 5: Labour and material for closing cavities at the jambs and sills shall be measured in

Answer - (a) 

As per IS: 1200 Part IIIForming of cavity shall be measured in square meters starting width of cavity and shall include ties and their number per square meter. Labour and material for closing cavities at jambs, sills and heads of openings shall be described and measured separately in running metres.

Answer - (c) 

Lift irrigation- Lift irrigation is practised when the water-supply is at too low a level to run by gravitation on to the land. In such a circumstances water is lifted up by mechanical. Irrigation from wells is an example of lift irrigation.

Answer - (a)

As per IS 4986 : 2002 - The rain water in the gauge shall be measured every day at 8: 30 hour Indian standard time (IST) and the raingauge shall be examined every day at hour even when in the observer's opinion no rain has follows.
